ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਜਿਸ (ਮਾਇਆ) ਨੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇਸ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਫਸਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਉਸੇ (ਮਾਇਆ) ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿਚ ਮੈਂ ਭੀ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਾਂ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼, ਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਵਿਕਾਰੀ ਜੀਵ ਨੂੰ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ) ਬਚਾ ਲੈ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ ਭੀ ਉਸ (ਮਾਇਆ) ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ (ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ) ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਭੀ ਕਦੇ ਸੁਖੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ। ਮੈਂ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ) ਚੰਬੜਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜੋ (ਆਖ਼ਰ) ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।੧। ਹੇ ਤਰਸ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ! ਹੇ ਹਰੀ! ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ) ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਾਂ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਤੇਰੇ ਸੇਵਕ) ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀ (ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਇਹੀ) ਬੇਨਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਰਹਾਂ।੨।੩।੪੩।
