ਜੈਤਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
ਕੋਈ ਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਦੇਵੈ ਜੋਰਿ ॥ ਚਰਨ ਗਹਉ ਬਕਉ ਸੁਭ ਰਸਨਾ ਦੀਜਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਕੋਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਕਰਤ ਕਿਆਰੋ ਹਰਿ ਸਿੰਚੈ ਸੁਧਾ ਸੰਜੋਰਿ ॥ ਇਆ ਰਸ ਮਹਿ ਮਗਨੁ ਹੋਤ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਮਹਾ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਤੇ ਤੋਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਆਇਓ ਸਰਣਿ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਚਿਤਵਉ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਰੀ ਓਰਿ ॥ ਅਭੈ ਪਦੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਨਕ ਬੰਧਨ ਛੋਰਿ ॥੨॥੫॥੯॥

ਅਰਥ: ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ) ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਦੇਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਫੜ ਲਵਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦੇ) ਮਿੱਠੇ ਬੋਲ ਬੋਲਾਂ। ਮੇਰੇ ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਉਸ ਅੱਗੇ ਭੇਟਾ ਦੇ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਜਾਣ।੧।ਰਹਾਉ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਕੋਈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ, ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਿਆਰਾ ਬਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ-ਜਲ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਿੰਜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਵੱਡੀ (ਮੋਹਣੀ) ਮਾਇਆ ਨਾਲੋਂ (ਸੰਬੰਧ) ਤੋੜ ਕੇ ਇਸ (ਨਾਮ-) ਰਸ ਵਿਚ ਮਸਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।੧। ਹੇ ਦੀਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ! ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਆਸਰਾ (ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ) ਚਿਤਾਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਮੈਂ) ਨਾਨਕ ਦੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਵਾਲੇ) ਬੰਧਨ ਛੁਡਾ ਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੇਹ, ਮੈਨੂੰ (ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਤੇ) ਨਿਰਭੈਤਾ ਵਾਲੀ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼।੨।੫।੯।

जैतसरी महला ५ ॥
कोई जनु हरि सिउ देवै जोरि ॥ चरन गहउ बकउ सुभ रसना दीजहि प्रान अकोरि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ मनु तनु निरमल करत किआरो हरि सिंचै सुधा संजोरि ॥ इआ रस महि मगनु होत किरपा ते महा बिखिआ ते तोरि ॥१॥ आइओ सरणि दीन दुख भंजन चितवउ तुम्हरी ओरि ॥ अभै पदु दानु सिमरनु सुआमी को प्रभ नानक बंधन छोरि ॥२॥५॥९॥

अर्थ: हे भाई! अगर कोई मनुष्य मुझे परमात्मा (के चरणों) से जोड़ दे, तो मैं उसके चरण पकड़ लूँ, मैं जीभ से (उसके धन्यवाद के) मीठे बोल बोलूँ। मेरे ये प्राण उसके आगे भेटा के तौर पर दिए जाएं।1। रहाउ। हे भाई! कोई विरला मनुष्य परमात्मा की कृपा से अपने मन को शरीर को, पवित्र क्यारा बनाता है, उसमें प्रभू का नाम-जल अच्छी तरह सींचता है, और, बड़ी (मोहनी) माया से (संबंध) तोड़ के इस (नाम-) रस में मस्त रहता है।1। हे दीनों के दुख नाश करने वाले! मैं तेरी शरण आया हूँ, मैं तेरा ही आसरा (अपने मन में) चितवता रहता हूँ। हे प्रभू! (मुझ) नानक के (माया वाले) बंधन छुड़वा के मुझे अपने नाम का सिमरन दे, मुझे (विकारों के मुकाबले में) निर्भैता वाली अवस्था दे।2।5।9।
