ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ ੫ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਸਿਮਰਹਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਤੈ ਤਨਿ ਉਡੈ ਖੇਹ ॥ ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਤੀ ਤਿਸੈ ਨ ਜਾਣਈ ਨਾਨਕ ਫਿਟੁ ਅਲੂਣੀ ਦੇਹ ॥੧॥ ਮਃ ੫ ॥ ਘਟਿ ਵਸਹਿ ਚਰਣਾਰਬਿੰਦ ਰਸਨਾ ਜਪੈ ਗੁਪਾਲ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਿਮਰੀਐ ਤਿਸੁ ਦੇਹੀ ਕਉ ਪਾਲਿ ॥੨॥ ਪਉੜੀ ॥ ਆਪੇ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਕਰਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਕਰੇ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ॥ ਆਪੇ ਸੰਜਮਿ ਵਰਤੈ ਸ੍ਵਾਮੀ ਆਪਿ ਜਪਾਇਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥ ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹੋਇ ਭਉ ਖੰਡਨੁ ਆਪਿ ਕਰੈ ਸਭੁ ਦਾਨੁ ॥ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਪਿ ਬੁਝਾਏ ਸੋ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਪਾਏ ਮਾਨੁ ॥ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਪੈਜ ਰਖੈ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੋ ਸਚਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਨੁ ॥੧੪॥

ਅਰਥ: ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਹਰੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਿਮਰਦੇ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਤੇ ਸੁਆਹ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ, (ਭਾਵ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਫਿਟਕਾਰ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਖਣੇ ਉਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਧਿੱਕਾਰ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਛਾਣਦਾ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ।੧। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ) ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਜੀਭ ਹਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਪਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ (ਜਿਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਕਰਕੇ) ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰੋ।੨। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਅਠਾਹਠ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਆਪ ਹੀ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੀਰਥਾਂ ਤੇ) ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮਾਲਕ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਜੁਗਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਭਉ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਦਇਆਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਸਭ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਮਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਦਰਗਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਆਦਰ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਲਾਜ ਆਪ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸੇਵਕ ਰੱਬ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਹੈ।੧੪।

सलोकु मः ५ ॥ हरि नामु न सिमरहि साधसंगि तै तनि उडै खेह ॥ जिनि कीती तिसै न जाणई नानक फिटु अलूणी देह ॥१॥ मः ५ ॥ घटि वसहि चरणारबिंद रसना जपै गुपाल ॥ नानक सो प्रभु सिमरीऐ तिसु देही कउ पालि ॥२॥ पउड़ी ॥ आपे अठसठि तीरथ करता आपि करे इसनानु ॥ आपे संजमि वरतै स्वामी आपि जपाइहि नामु ॥ आपि दइआलु होइ भउ खंडनु आपि करै सभु दानु ॥ जिस नो गुरमुखि आपि बुझाए सो सद ही दरगहि पाए मानु ॥ जिस दी पैज रखै हरि सुआमी सो सचा हरि जानु ॥१४॥
Mukhwaak Meaning In Hindi
अर्थ: जो मनुष्य साध-संगति में हरी का नाम नहीं सिमरते, उनके शरीर पर राख पड़ती है (भाव, उनके शरीर धिक्कारे जाते हैं)। हे नानक! प्रेम से विहीन उस शरीर को धिक्कार है, जो उस प्रभू को नहीं पहचानता जिसने उसको बनाया है।1। हे नानक! (जिस मनुष्य के) हृदय में प्रभू के चरण-कमल बसते हैं और जिहवा हरी को जपती है, और प्रभू (जिस शरीर के होने से) सिमरा जाता है उस शरीर की पालना करो।2। प्रभू स्वयं ही अढ़सठ तीर्थों को करने वाला है, खुद ही (उन तीर्थों पर) स्नान करता है, मालिक स्वयं ही जुगति में बरतता है और खुद ही नाम जपाता है, भय दूर करने वाला प्रभू खुद ही दयालु होता है और खुद ही सब तरह के दान करता है, जिस मनुष्य को सतिगुरू के माध्यम से समझ बख्शता है, वह सदा ही दरगाह में आदर पाता है। जिसकी लाज खुद रखता है वह ईश्वर का प्यारा सेवक ईश्वर का ही रूप है।14।
Meaning: The True Lord has blessed His devotees with the treasure of devotional worship, and the wealth of the Lord’s Name. The wealth of the Naam, shall never be exhausted; no one can estimate its worth. With the wealth of the Naam, their faces are radiant, and they attain the True Lord. ||1|| O my mind, through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, the Lord is found. Without the Shabad, the world wanders around, and receives its punishment in the Court of the Lord. || Pause || Within this body dwell the five thieves: sexual desire, anger, greed, emotional attachment and egotism. They plunder the Nectar, but the self-willed manmukh does not realize it; no one hears his complaint. The world is blind, and its dealings are blind as well; without the Guru, there is only pitch darkness. ||2|| Indulging in egotism and possessiveness, they are ruined; when they depart, nothing goes along with them. But one who becomes Gurmukh meditates on the Naam, and ever contemplates the Lord’s Name. Through the True Word of Gurbani, he sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord; blessed with the Lord’s Glance of Grace, he is enraptured. ||3|| The spiritual wisdom of the True Guru is a steady light within the heart. The Lord’s decree is over the heads of even kings. Night and day, the Lord’s devotees worship Him; night and day, they gather in the true profit of the Lord’s Name. O Nanak Ji, through the Lord’s Name, one is emancipated; attuned to the Shabad, he finds the Lord. ||4||2||
